Nick Osborne, one of our Elite Mastermind Members has PERFECTED personal training systems at his gym. His gym up in Ohio boasts nearly a 50% personal training penetration among members. Unreal right? It’s actually not as difficult as you think as long as you follow Nick’s proven system! In this 5 minute video, Nick shares why your personal training department isn’t maximizing its potential and he discusses what you can do to fix it right away.
Why do YOU think most health club personal training departments don’t make the amount of money they should be making?
Great info, and I know it works. Training should exceed member revenues in clubs under 10k sq ft. In order for that to happen you need a sales system just like this video mentions!
Great post! You are spot on with the reasons a lot of young trainers have a hard time selling. It IS a part of being a trainer. Where can I find the ins and outs of your sales system??
Great Info Nick
Mindset is a huge part of sales
Thanks for the video. That was very good information.

I love this guys energy, and all so true. Man I want to learn some more. Bring it on Nick. I am all about building relationships first. How can I get more involved and learn more…:) thanks Curtis and Nick…
relationship, sale, results…..

Is it bad if I don’t know what percentage of revenues are PT? lol I’d guess not much. We have trainers renting space, paying varying amounts, and two staff trainers. And sometimes I train people and my wife trains occasionally and if everyone’s busy our front desk/sales guy trains them. It’s a mess. But we make money so I turn a blind eye. Not the best business strategy I’m sure. Good information on the video though. Makes me think I should start paying more attention to PT as a profit center and not as an annoyance!
Please do run this like a business.
For what you “should” be making (and these number can vary across the US/world), take the number of members you have and multiply that by say 12%.
(1,000 members x .12 = 120 clients)
Now take that number and multiply it by $200, the average that clients should be paying per month to work with a coach/trainer. This is a number for the mid-west, but it is good for playing around.
(120 x $200 = $24,000 in PT billing per month)
That will give you a rough idea of what numbers you should be looking at per month from PT.
Could be more.
Thanks Chris! Love this stuff. Keep it coming. I’m definitely a fan and love what you’re doing.
Great post Nick, we deal with so many personal trainers, boot camp instructors and studios and many of them struggle to keep the clients and get new clients!
I will keep my eye on your posts to see if I can share the info with all the trainers that we work with.
Great video, I struggle with finding new clients, even though there are nearly 16 pt’s at my gym all trying to gain clients..
very difficult, but i shall try some of Nicks advice.

This is the first time I have had the reasons behind trainers inability to feel comfortable selling themselves explained.
It rings true, having been there myself. Would getting them to sell each others services work?
I will start the 4 steps today.
Whoa! Real good advice here. A 50% personal training penetration rate is insane!
Definitely want to know more!
