In this week’s episode I share with you how to transition from offering only one-on-one personal training to more group training, I’ve got a killer resource that gets web designers to compete to create a new website for you (and by the way, you don’t pay until you picked a design), and I’m going to discuss what things you need on your website to make it more effective.
Websites and Resources Mentioned in the Show:

The Club Industry East Show is fast approaching. If you don’t have tickets yet, you’d better get on it!
Are you tired of having a ceiling on the amount of money you can earn from one-on-one personal training? There are only so many hours in a day your trainers can train, so the obvious solution is group personal training and fitness bootcamps. I discuss how you can make the transition now.
Many of you have experienced the headache of creating your fitness website. You and a designer (possibly not native English speaking) go back and forth…you trying to explain your vision, he/she trying to create that vision as a website. It’s a frustrating process. Well now there is a resource that allows you to have dozens of web designers creating your fitness website, increasing the chances of someone creating your vision perfectly.
I also go over some of the most important things you need on your fitness website. Whether you have an existing website or you plan to create one soon, I share a number of things you absolutely must have on your fitness website to make it more effective.
As always your thoughts are appreciated. Please leave a comment below that will benefit the other viewers.
Enjoy!
May the force be with you…

I already have adopted that competitor additide…it has worked for me…good advice:)
Tiger Woods is a celebrity, and as such comes under a certain degree of scrutiny and is held to a higher level of expectation. He is a husband and father, which has its own set of circumstances and responsibilities. A man’s integrity is shown more by how he keeps his word than anything else. He broke his word to his wife. Because he is in the public eye, he is seen as a role model. Like it or not, he is an influence to people…especially young people.
He blew it. He cheated on his wife and kids with multiple women, thereby letting them down while humiliating and embarrassing himself, his family and by proxy those companies associated with him.
Personally I don’t don’t give a crap about him or what he did because I’m not a golf fan. I do feel the companies who have “let him go” from their campaigns are justified in doing so because its their image that gets associated with his actions and behavior.
Edwin Louis Cole (author, speaker) once wrote, “When you accept a philosophy that is a rationalization to justify someone’s failure, you accept their failure.” Accepting such failure is, in my opinion, condoning it as well. Some companies simply will not compromise on that basis.
I like the passion Steve! So I guess you won’t be checking out Tiger’s progress at the Masters?
Liked your show…KISS is so true. Thanks for the reminder.
# 12 the video is not up yet
Curtis, as ALWAYS great info and advice. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Love the Henry Ford quote. I haven’t looked over my shoulder for the past 32 years and have always been the busiest personal trainer in my area. Will be going to 99designs and look for help with a couple new websites. Always looking to improve. And I would love to get the book “Blink” you are offering so I subliminally and coercing you to pick my post as the one to receive the book. I am the winner–right? Right?
Thanks again,

Curtis,
Making the transition to semi-private training at 2nd site. Like the website competition concept.
Curtis,
I already sent you my web site to get your critique and look forward to some tips to make it even better.
Thanks for giving me this opportunity!
Nate
Hey Nate, I have you slated for the first critique in episode 15. Put on your thick skin brother. Your site is actually really nice, but I don’t point out the good things in my critiques, only the bad.
And I see you’re in the Zach Even-Esh posse. He’s a good guy to have on your side. Keep up the great work!
Great show this week Curtis! I don’t have a website, but a lot of my friends have used 99designs.com and love it. Great Resource!!
Thanks for the reply Curtis, very good information, will be applying it asap…
Curtis,
Another great show! I could not agree more the group training and bootcamps are some of the most profitable and easiest revenue sources that can be added to any club or studio. Heck, we even have clients that run them in city parks.
Also, 99designs.com is one of my favorite tools. Although I tend to waste countless hours going through design after design. (fair warning the designers there are good):)

Curtis, this was simple, informative and easy to implement. Thanks for the tips. I appreciate the info about 99 designs. It just so happens that I am interested in seeking some help and support with my current site, as well as a potential other site.
Thanks!
Hollis,
I just noticed this comment you made. If you are looking to outsource web stuff, let me make a play for your business. Shoot me an email through the Ask Curtis tab. I could do some cool stuff to get you a BAMF site.
Curtis,
Great topic and thanks for keeping it simple for everyone.
Thank you!
I just finished Blink it was an excellent book. The core of the book is how successful people are able to make quick and correct decisions in a difficult and fast paced environment. A must read for any small business owner.
Going from personal training to semi/group training is a great way to increase the bottom line and give your clients a great deal. For example, if your personal training clients are paying $75 per workout, you give them a deal by telling them you’re going to knock $15 dollars per workout and train 2 people for the workout, they get a price reduction and you get more money.
And not to devalue the amazing service we offer, but you could even knock $30 off of the price and still make more money for the same amount of time spent! It becomes the pricing game we always have to play. You want to set prices at the most optimal point that maximizes the number of dollars earned, but low enough to get more people interested. Always a fun challenge to figure out!
Great video bro
I can’t wait to try out 99designs. It seems like a great tool to get a really nice selection to pick from.
I myself have moved away from one-on-one training. It is the best moved I have made for my training business. I make more and the clients get a break. If I am not doing group training I am teaching boot camp now. It is the way to go. All of my client prefer it now that they are doing it.
Thanks for all the hard work you put into the show.
Great show sir! Great topics. Tiger Woods is a cruddy guy, but a great golfer…
No problem Curtis! I want to know what I need to do better, so bring it on!
I’ll take your tips and make the changes needed. So it will be all good in the end.
Keep functioning ,great work!
I have recently began using the blogengine.net and I getting some difficulties right here?
in your weblog you stated that we now have to allow create permissions about the App_Data folder…
unfortunately I do not understand how you can allow it.
Thanks again for the tips from the web site critique. I implemented almost all of them as soon as you made them!
And I continue to tweak things as I go.
